The Foodservice Cluster advances in a new project to optimize water consumption through artificial intelligence

Persona Comunicació,

At the Foodservice Cluster, we continue to promote initiatives that combine technology, sustainability, and efficiency. We are currently working on a strategic project focused on reducing water consumption through the application of innovative technologies such as machine learning and digital environment simulation.

The goal is to develop intelligent systems that can accurately identify where water consumption can be reduced without compromising the quality of the final product. Thanks to real-time data-based predictive and dynamic adjustment capabilities, the project fosters optimal and responsible water resource management.

This project addresses key challenges in the sector, such as:

Simplifying processes within the agri-food chain.
 ● Providing tools to calculate the environmental footprint per process.
 ● Interconnecting IT systems and aggregated platforms between supply and demand.

In addition, the project aims to implement automatic management software, monitor the production/water consumption ratio online by department, instantly detect water losses, and identify consumption patterns predictively.

The project involves the Digitalization and Sustainability working groups of the Cluster, with the active collaboration of BonÀrea, Friselva, and CIT UPC.

We will continue to share updates on the progress of this project, which promotes water efficiency and the digital transformation of our sector.
