
This Thursday, April 4, the Innovation Day took place at the Ramon Fernandez Jurado Library in Castelldefels. The initiative promoted by the Cluster Foodservice and the City Council of Castelldefels achieved a day where more than a hundred companies came to discover opportunities for technological innovation, digital transformation and new trends in the Foodservice sector.
The day began by presenting the new Oninnovem.com platform as a virtual meeting place between the company and the university. A space where everyone can raise needs and challenges and from the university research will look for solutions.
Having said that, we started with a presentation session by Beatriz Romanos of the TechFood Magazine company who explained the latest innovations and trends in the food and foodservice sector, the challenges that will be presented in the coming years and how to bring them up to date a day of the company. Highlights a very important trend and with a lot of impact in the sector: Mindfulness, which encompasses being aware of ourselves, the environment and the system.
Next, Mariano Najles, founder of the company Las Muns tells us his case of success and innovation in a traditional product. The Muns have managed to reinvent the way to create and sell the famous empanadas. Through a traditional product he has created a company that works thinking of approaching new audiences.
During the coffee break, all the attendees were able to enjoy the exhibition space ON in order to share and experiment with the products, concepts or prototypes of the sector that provide a conceptual improvement of management, process or purpose. Our participating partners in this innovative space were: DIGITAL BOIRA, UVE SOLUTIONS, ALIMENTIUM, MARBEL, SIGHORE, PRESPECTIVA, MYHEALTH WATCHER, INÈDIT and DAVIGEL.
The second part of the event, had the participation of BiofreshTech with Rafael Matamoros, Applicats with Eduardo Valls, CREDA-UPC-IRTA with the project of food waste by Raquel Diaz and José M. Gil, Natural Machines with Joan Casellas and the Research Center of the UPC with Quim Rigola. The participation of all these professionals served to offer a space to discover the research and innovative proposals that are being carried out in the surroundings of Baix Llobregat, Barcelona, Baix Penedès and Garraf.
Once the presentations were completed, a dynamised group dynamic was organized to conclude projects and challenges in the innovation sector with the aim of reaching solutions through collective intelligence and with opportunities to carry out projects.
The event concluded with a networking lunch where exhibitors and participants interconnected among themselves sharing experiences and with the intention of starting new businesses.
