Successfully day organized by ACCIÓ of VI Strategic Change for Clusters

This conference, which is part of the cluster policy of the Generalitat de Catalunya with the collaboration of the IESE Business School, aims to disseminate 3 cases of entities from different sectors that have managed to transform themselves to remain competitive in such a global framework. Changing like the current one.

In this edition have presented the experiences of the companies; Circontrol (member of Efficiency Energy Cluster), Frit Ravich (Foodservice) and Relats (Cluster of the Automotive Industry).

During the inauguration of the VI Strategic Change for Clusters, Judith Viader encourages companies to be a part of one of the existing 28 clusters, depending on each sector and highlights the benefits of forming part of them.

All the companies has to face the Strategic Change, because the great opportunities present themselves in the face of great changes. The three companies that have participated in the work day are very relevant; for its ability to innovate and internationalize, but also for its ability to work in a network and in a cluster model. More and more companies are part of the network clusters. The importance of interconnecting clusters and get them international, increasing the presence of member companies and a good governance and cluster strategy, it is important to continue working on it.

The day continued with the presentation of professor Nueno d’IESE Business School where he talked about the challenges of transformation of the medium-sized company, based on the example of the companies that have presented below.

The three cases of the Catalan companies that have presented, would be studied by IESE Busines School Students. In fact, this year it has celebrated the sixth edition, at the moment around 2.500 students, have studied the 18 examples of Business success that have been known themselves in these sessions to learn the challenges and opportunities that they have found through the participation in a cluster. Also, five cases have been worked with thematic seminars open to all member companies of clusters, an initiative that will be extended in 2019.

The Cluster policy in Catalonia

Catalonia has 25 years of experience in the development of Clusters, through the Catalonia Clusters program. This initiative it has been imposed by La Generalitat through ACCIÓ – the agency for the competitiveness of the company of the Generalitat de Catalunya, dependent on the Department of Business and Knowledge-, with the objective of promoting the grouping of companies and entities of the same sector to boost their competitiveness, share resources, generate synergies and project internationally. Currently, the 28 Catalan clusters of the program group 2,200 companies with a turnover of 74,000 million euros and more than 300,000 workers.
