
The CEO of ACCIÓ, Joan Romero, has assured that “the meeting with Colombia is very relevant” for the potential in cluster policy and commercial relations are very fruitful between both parties”.
30 clusters of Catalonia and Colombia have participated in Barcelona in the fifth edition of the International Intercluster Meeting with the aim of strengthening links and strategic alliances between the clusters of the two territories. The event is organized by ACCIÓN -the Generalitat agency for the company competitiveness – with the collaboration of the Network of Clusters of Colombia and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá.
Thus, the first day, Catalan clusters of sectors such as food, water, beauty or home automation, among others, have exchanged good practices and opportunities for collaboration with Colombian entities. The representatives of the clusters have been able to present their projects and participate in networking activities to look for joint business opportunities. The session also allowed us to analyze, through various discussion groups, the strategic impact of clusters on companies, the role of start-ups or the importance of talent in this field.
The meeting was attended by 19 Catalan and 11 Colombian clusters, it is the fifth edition of the International Intercluster Meeting organized by ACCIÓN, which has previously been held with Norway, Denmark, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (France) and the Lombardy region (Italy).
The Catalan clusters participating in this edition are the Cluster of home automation, inmótica and smart cities (DOMOTYS), the Catalan Sports Cluster (INDESCAT), the Lighting Cluster of Catalonia (CICAT), the Catalan Wine Cluster (INNOVI), the Catalonia Gourmet, the Beauty Cluster Barcelona, the Edutech Cluster, the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP), the Solar Energy Cluster (Solartys), the Cluster Habitat Barcelona (HCB), the Cluster of Advanced Materials of Catalonia (ClústerMAV), the Catalan Fashion Cluster (MODACC), the Packaging cluster, the CataloniaBio & HealthTech, the Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia (CEEC), the Foodservice Cluster, the Technological Diffusion Center for Wood and Furniture of Catalonia (CENFIM), the Light Technologies Cluster (SECPhO) and the Kid ‘s Cluster.
On the other hand, some of the Colombian clusters that have attended the session are the Cluster of the Coffee of Antioquia, the Cluster of Bioenergy, the Cluster of Health of Bogotá, the Cluster of Creative Industries and Contents, the Milky Cluster Initiative of Bogotá or the Digital Business Cluster.
