
The EU-Taiwan Cluster Matchmaking event took place from 6 to 8 March at the Global Industrie fair in Lyon, France. The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) and the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) organized it. There were 12 representatives of Taiwanese clusters and 22 clusters of the EU. The representatives of the clusters were in different fields, including the intelligent industry, manufacturing technologies and equipment, mechanical engineering and metalworkers, as well as other industries such as IT, cosmetics, consumer goods, food, transport and mobility.
There were five sessions to the seminar, session 1 “Understanding the collaboration between industry and research of clusters of the EU and Taiwan” by Mr. Emilien OUMEHD promoter of European and international associations to AuvergneRhône Alpes Entreprises and Dr. Liang-Han Hsieh of ITRI. Session 2 “Initiatives that support business cooperation between EU-Taiwan” by Ms. Noelia Dosil from ICCP, Mr. Wei-Cheng YEN from CNFI, Mr. Edouard Leonet from IPR Helpdesk SME, and Ms. Monika , from TAITRA. Session 3, “Building global value chains through smart manufacturing clusters: trends and challenges” by Mr. Pedro ROCHA of PRODUTECH and Ms. Chin-An WANG of Smart. Session 4 “Good practices and experiences on collaboration between EU-Taiwan clusters” by Ms. Franckie BÉCHEREAU of Cosmetic Valley and Mr. Eric TAI of Taiwan Beauty Valley and session 5 with “Presentations of round tables” for delegations of groups from the EU and Taiwan.
The C2B and C2C matchmaking was held on March 7. This session begins with the welcome of Mrs. Eva Revilla of DG GROW and Mr. Mark Chang of CNFI.
75 meetings were held between groups and companies from the EU and Taiwan. The representatives of the clusters considered this event very useful to interact with EU clusters, encouraging cooperation for future projects.
