On January 17, KICK OFF LATAM will begin with the study for the opening market from our partners in Colombia and Chile, raising the different business opportunities.
The objective of the project is to analyze the agents of the value chain in different markets and understand the different types of buyers and the purchasing criteria that follow to identify new opportunities for companies in the Cluster Foodservice of Catalonia.
The Foodservice sector is growing more and more especially in the workplace with difficulties to eat at home during the working day or to have less time to eat in order to reduce the working day. Even so, the outsourcing of collective restoration around the world also means a strong growth of the sector, as well as the strong growth of tourism around the world.
Currently, China, above Asia, is the main country where the Foodservice is more developed since it represents more than 70% of the food market.
Beyond the interesting Asian market, it is considered that some of the economies of Latin America could be interesting markets such as Mexico, Chile or Colombia. In this case it is considered to study the Chile market, which has more local competitors and the Colombian market that has experienced strong growth in recent years, especially in Foodservice and therefore it is considered that it can be a good opportunity interms of future trends of market, absolute critical mass, level of local competition less developed and feasibility to enter potentially.
The project will serve to know in depth these markets and to solve all the doubts that may arise to enter the Latin Americanmarket. The main activities to be developed in this first phase will be:
– Comprehensive market analysis based on studies.
– Interviews with buyers of modern catering, independent distributors, competitors and some agent of the environment.
– Workshop in Barcelona with interested cluster companies.
– Document with the conclusions and recommendations of the project.
– Final presentation of the conclusions to all companies.
– Proposal of next steps for the second phase of the project.
