Andrés Pintaluba is committed to finding new ingredients for nutrition through the EFECBIOTA project “Effect of an ingredient for animal nutrition on the microbiota and animal welfare“.
The project, promoted by the Foodservice Cluster, is based on increasing the level of technical knowledge on the effect of administering a selected ingredient on the microbial populations present in the gastrointestinal tract and on different parameters associated with the digestive health of animals. This will allow Andrés Pintaluba to market new ingredients, responding to the social, environmental and economic challenge posed by the directives on reducing the use of antibiotics in animal nutrition and health.
The project, with file number IRCR19-1-0026, has the participation of the Eurecat Technology Center and with the support of ACCIÓ of the Generalitat de Catalunya and is part of the line of incentive aid to reinforce competitiveness 2019 (IRC) for projects that strengthen business potential.
In this sense, the Generalitat de Catalunya develops policies to support the business fabric through the Direcció General d’Indústria and ACCIÓ, the Agència per a la Competitivitat de l’Empresa, designing and implementing the lines of work aimed at accompanying companies in the process of economic transformation, where cluster policy occupies a prominent role, such as, in this case, the Foodservice Cluster, which reaffirms its position and leadership as a promoter of the project in the field of healthy animal nutrition, responding to the change in paradigm in the use of antibiotics.
