The Catalonia Foodservice Cluster celebrated the fourth day of Strategic Immersion in Castell Jalpí, on March 21 to learn about the most innovative trends in the sector as an opportunity to open up new challenges and anticipate changes.
Barcelona, March 23, 2018.- The Catalonia Foodservice Cluster (http://www.clusterfoodservice.org), promoted by Generalitat through ACCION, carried out the IV Strategic Cluster Immersion in Arenys de Munt (Castell Jalpí) and It was attended by 70 partners.
This activity held once a year becomes a meeting point with members of the cluster, receiving a very good reception and was valuated very positively by all of them. The participation of high-level speakers, bring a good knowledge of the latest trends in distribution, consumer, restoration and digital transformation that will allow all the group of companies attending, take advantage of new opportunities in the sector in order to ‘open up to new lines of business and anticipate the changes that may appear during the next years.
This year the Strategic Immersion included six presentations from different companies distributed throughout the day, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Jaume V. Arend, president of the cluster foodservice and Alejandro Utrera as Cluster Manager to welcome the attendees and present the papers, led the presentation and opening of the day.
The day opens with Jordi Franch, CEO of Bidfood raising the question “the future passes through an integral supplier”. They make it very clear that each category of products intended to be as competent as possible, making good management of the portfolio of all existing references based on the persistence that accelerates the volume through the suppliers.
Next, we will have the presence of Sonia Gasa, Retail Tech Marketing Consultant, talking about trends and the new consumer, a “Milelial” type consumer, those who distrust brands and choose to focus more on opinions of prescribers, family members or known and social networks.
After the coffee break, M.José Lechuga, Shopper and Retail Manager of IPSOS, introduced us as a theme the “digital behavior of foodies”, as new prescribers in the catering sector. They are people who are looking for a more conventional and non-traditional type of cuisine, millennial generation wanting to try new and authentic things. They could be defined as sustainable creatives with a high level of communication in social networks.
Moreover, with this presentation, the first part of the day ended with a guided tour of the castle of Can Jalpí, to learn about its history and then a joint meal with all attendees, with the revitalization of a magician between courses.
The holder with Rafael Casas as B2B Manager Area will open the second part of the Immersion with the theme of “digitalization, the challenge of restoration”. The importance of being visible and close to everyone and having an online booking system was stressed.
Deloitte Company also participated with the presentation on “What to change today to succeed tomorrow?” In charge of Antonio Ibáñez, as a partner of Deloitte Digital, where we talk about a new trend that consists of sharing, tasting and traveling. During the second part of the Immersion, the possibility was opened for member companies of the Cluster to participate in the Chinese ecommerce.
In order to continue networking among cluster partners, there was a short pause before starting the round table where partners were present as: R. Bago de Serhs, B. Coca (GB Foods), J. Guasp (Davigel), F. Gómez (Areas) where concepts about the new challenges of the Foodservice were debated.
